NFC tap stamp: Tap an NFC-enabled station and complete its activity
How organisers set it up
- 1
Confirm event access
Ask about NFC pilot availability. Both the required administrator permission and the organiser's opt-in must be in place before using the feature.
- 2
Use the existing station destination
Program the tag through the supported workflow using the exact station URL. Keep the QR destination and any verified custom-domain behaviour consistent.
- 3
Test physical hardware
Try real tags and participant devices at the venue. Check placement and retain a visible QR alternative for unsupported phones or unsuccessful taps.
What participants experience
A participant taps a compatible phone at the NFC sign and opens the station in their browser. They then follow the same entry, activity and reward gates as a QR visitor. A successful tag read is not itself a stamp or proof of completed participation.
Settings and controls
Two enablement gates
NFC requires administrator pilot permission and organiser opt-in. A description on the website does not mean every account has access.
Compatible devices and tags
Writing and reading depend on supported hardware and browser capabilities. Confirm the intended setup rather than promising identical behaviour on every phone.
Illustrative guided walkthrough
See how NFC could play out
Sample scenario for explanation only. This is not live product data, a screenshot, or a real registration or draw.
Scenario: An eligible pilot adds an NFC tag beside a booth QR poster.
Reporting
Interpret the resulting station activity using the same reporting boundaries as QR participation. NFC does not add a new independent attendance-verification or sales-attribution system.
Limitations and boundaries
- NFC remains an early-access, assisted capability.
- Physical tag testing is required; a browser preview cannot prove real-world tap reliability.
