Charity Checkpoint Run Template

This template seeds Charity Run 2026 with ten checkpoints along a route: the start line, three water stations, the riverside turn, the halfway marker, the hill summit, the park gates and the final stretch to the finish. Marshals hold the QR posters and runners scan as they pass. Team Competition Mode is on with four teams (Red, Blue, Green, Gold), and checkpoints count toward each team's total on the leaderboard. The medal is gated on the finish-line stamp so it only unlocks at the line.

Who this template is for

  • Charities and clubs running a fun run, walk or fundraising race.
  • Events organised in fundraising teams that want a live team total.
  • Routes with marshalled checkpoints where runners scan as they pass.

How the template works

  • Ten checkpoints are seeded in route order; marshals hold the QR posters.
  • Team Competition Mode is on, so each runner's checkpoints add to their team total.
  • The finisher medal needs the finish-line stamp, and the draw opens at 8 checkpoints.

Example reward rules

  • Finisher medal at 10 checkpoints and requires the Finish Line stamp (1000 in stock), collected at the finish marquee.

  • No spin wheel is seeded. Runners crossing a finish line will not stop to spin one.

Attendee instructions

  • Step 1: Start your passport: No app and no password. Open it in your browser at the start line.
  • Step 2: Scan at every checkpoint: Ten checkpoints along the route. Marshals have the QR posters.
  • Step 3: Run as a team: Your checkpoints count toward your team total.
  • Step 4: Finish and claim: Cross the line, scan the finish, and collect your medal.

Setup checklist

  • Step 1: Replace the sample checkpoints with your real route markers and distances
  • Step 2: Rename the four teams to match your fundraising groups
  • Step 3: Brief every marshal on where their QR poster goes and how to help a runner scan
  • Step 4: Laminate the QR posters. They will be outdoors
  • Step 5: Confirm medal stock matches your registration numbers
  • Step 6: If you want finish line photos, add a Photo activity deliberately and check your consent wording first

Frequently asked questions

The medal reward needs the Finish Line stamp, so it only unlocks when a runner scans at the line. They then show the screen to a marshal at the finish marquee.

Team Competition Mode is on and runners choose a fundraising team at sign-up. Every checkpoint they scan counts toward their team's total on the leaderboard.

No photo activity is seeded, because runs often include under-18 participants. You can add one deliberately, but check your consent wording first.
