Live leaderboard: Current standings

How organisers set it up

  1. 1

    Choose the scoring model

Review the available stamp or points metric and the way station activities contribute. Avoid changing the meaning of scores halfway through an advertised competition.

  2. 2

    Configure the display

Set the participant-facing visibility and appropriate name display. Select the available presenter or shared view for the venue screen.

  3. 3

    Test with actual activity flows

Complete representative activities in the test journey and check the ranking view. Allow for refresh timing instead of promising an instantaneous display on every device.

What participants experience

Participants complete activities and consult the leaderboard to see the current published rankings. Their view depends on event visibility and privacy settings. A participant's position can change as others complete activities; a live rank is not automatically a final prize result.

Settings and controls

Metric and audience

Choose the appropriate individual or team view for the configured event. Use dedicated rounds when competition needs a defined scoring period.

Station rankings

The optional station leaderboard covers eligible active, visible manual stations. It should not silently include hidden or unrelated agenda stations.

Illustrative guided walkthrough

See how Live Leaderboards could play out

Sample scenario for explanation only. This is not live product data, a screenshot, or a real registration or draw.

Scenario: A conference uses points to encourage participation between sessions.

Step 1 of 3

Understand

The participant reads how the configured activities earn points.

Reporting

Treat standings as scores based on recorded activity, not a measure of commercial value or learning. Distinguish live rankings from frozen round results and separately recorded prize collection.

Limitations and boundaries

  • A high score does not automatically establish reward eligibility for every prize.
  • Apply privacy settings to public displays and historical results, not only the participant's own screen.

Frequently asked questions

Use the scoring metric supported and configured for the event; explain that choice in participant instructions.

No. Use the applicable round finalisation or reward rules to determine a prize outcome.
